Leeda H. Kasparek

KASPAREK, Leeda H. 94, of Springfield, passed peacefully into the precious hands of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 12, 2015. She was born on February 24, 1921, in Glenwood, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Forest and Minnie (Bellew) Holbrook. Leeda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kirby and Kim Kasparek; son-in-law, Joe Jung; grandchildren including Nikki Grim and husband Tom, Justin Kasparek and wife Maiko, Heather Hennings and husband Lucas; and great-grandchildren including Evan, Chase and Tyler Grim, Lilah and Kai Kasparek, and Lawrence and Parker Grace Hennings; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (Dan) Kasparek (married 66 years); daughter, Brenda Jung; and 9 siblings including her twin sister, Freda Cooksey. Leeda was a member of Northside Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a veteran of WWII in the Navy W.A.V.E.S, where she was a truck driver helping to preserve our freedoms in this great country, meeting and marrying Dan who also served in the Navy. She worked at International Harvester from 1967 - 1982 sewing seat covers for their trucks. Leeda was very talented with a passion for painting and sewing. She made many friends by tailoring for countless individuals in the area. She passed her talents on to her daughter Brenda but Kirby-not so much. However, her real passions were for her church where she rarely missed a Sunday or Wednesday service, her love for her bible, and her family. She will be greatly missed and always loved by all the lives she touched. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME- Springfield. A celebration of Leeda's life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dave Hill officiating, at Northside Baptist Church. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
