John C. Jones

JONES, John C. age 83, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1931 in Wood County, Ohio and was the son of Ivan and Francis (Anderson) Jones. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edith Loraine Lay Jones, daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Robin Earle of Hudson, Ohio and son John A. Jones of Springfield. He was a devoted Grandfather to his six grandchildren, Bryan (Sarah) Jones of Boston, MA, Wes (Jaclyn) Jones of Antioch, IL, Ben Jones of Springfield, OH, Zach (Heather Helsel) Jones of Springfield, Amanda (Steve) Johnson of Cincinnati, OH and Courtney (James) Dent of Truckee, CA. He was a proud Great-Grandpa to Ashton, Anabelle, Thor and Mack Johnson, Mackenzie, Greyson and Penelope Jones. In addition, John is survived by his caring sisters, Vivan (Ron) Orlando and Beverly (Bernie) Pahl, and brother-in-law Colbi Goodridge, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Ruth Goodridge. John was employed by the U.S. Post Office Dept. for 31 years and Security National Bank for 12 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, and the Northridge Lions Club where he served as president, and was a member for over 50 years. John was a charter member of the original Northridge Recreation Commission and helped develop the park and baseball field in Northridge. He also helped with school activities in the Northeastern School District, where he was a past treasurer of the Northeastern High School Boosters Club. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Buchanan and his staff for their dedicated service and kindness to John during his illness and throughout the years. The family would also like to thank Dr. Mohammed Khan for the considerate care given. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Ferncliff Cemetery.
