Jeanne M. Ervin

ERVIN (Vince), Jeanne M. Passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Oakwood Village in Springfield, Ohio. Jeanne was born on November 29, 1923 on the family farm in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles C. and Helen (Hays) Vince. She graduated from South Charleston High School, class of 1941 and from Springfield City Hospital in 1944. She worked at City Hospital until February 1963 when she was hired at the Clark County Health Department. She worked for 21 years as a Public Health Nurse, primarily serving the Tecumseh, Park Layne, and Donnelsville areas until her retirement in February of 1984. She was an active member of Anna Gilbert Chapter 490, serving as Worthy Matron from 1972 to 1973. She was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau, a 4-H alumnus, and volunteered for Community Hospital. She was a past member of South Charleston United Methodist Church and currently a member of First Christian Church, Springfield. Jeanne was united in marriage to Earl Harry Ervin on December 16, 1945 and together they shared 62 wonderful years until he preceded her in death on April 6, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bell Miller. Jeanne leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Son, David (Toni) Ervin and their children Todd (Monica) Ervin, Tucker and Travis; Michelle (Larry) Kraft, Makayla and Marena; Daughter, Nancy (Steve) Waddle and their children, Brian (Melanie) Waddle, Sarah, Emily, Katie and Ellie; Deborah (Sean) Corbitt and their children Kylie, Ryan, Josie and Haylie; Jennifer (Jason) Harral and their children Mitchell, Brayden, Addison and Clayton; Mark (Jessica) Waddle and their children Madelyn and Lillian; Son, Donald (Andrea) Ervin, and their children Vickie Ervin (Joe), Trisha (Brandon) Miller and Megan; Sister-in-law Ruth (Jim) Morningstar, several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Sally (Don) Riker. The family would like to thank Oakwood Village and Community Mercy Hospice for their excellent care and kindness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30am at First Christian Church (3638 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield) with Pastor Craig Grammar officiating. Contributions may be made in Jeanne's honor to First Christian Church or to Community Mercy Hospice (444 W. Harding Road Springfield).
