Clista Rozzell

ROZZELL, Clista B. Mother Rozzell was born on June 24, 1930 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma to Leroy and Velma McIntosh. She was the first born of 10 siblings that she loved as if they were her own. She received her education in the Coffeyville Kansas public school system and graduated from Field Kindley high in 1948. She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Selma W. Rozzell in 1948 and out of this union two children were born: Her loving son Selmer (Robin) (Yoshie) Rozzell of Zama City, Japan, and a very devoted daughter Christi Lynn Rozzell of Springfield OH. Mother Rozzell and her husband would later move to Wilberforce OH, where she furthered her education at Wilberforce University majoring in business. In 1958 she was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as an executive secretary where she worked faithfully for 38 years. Mother Rozzell's husband was called to pastor St. Luke Baptist Church in the early 1960s where she exhibited what it meant to be a first Lady. She worked faithfully in the church for years as a member of the Willing Workers, President of the Choir, Chairperson of the Missionary Board, member of the Pastor's Aid Committee, and The Guardian Angels. She also worked at the church's outreach center CORE and coordinated weekly free lunches for the community. Mother Rozzell took wings, and was called home on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Springfield Regional Hospital. Her Love, wisdom and mothering spirit touched everyone she knew. We will miss her earthly presence, big hugs and warm smile, but find solitude in knowing she is now free. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 siblings: James McIntosh, Mildred Ross, and Austin McIntosh and sister-in-law Lanetta McIntosh. The memory of Mother Rozzell will be forever cherished by her: Son Selmer (Robin) (Yoshie) Rozzell, and daughter Christi Lynn Rozzell, Grandchildren: Taka Rozzell of Columbus OH, Toshi ( Mari) Rozzell of San Antonio, TX, Imealia Collins of Fort Knox, KY, 2 Great grandchildren, 6 siblings: Robert McIntosh of Colorado Springs, CO, Royann (Lindsey Sr.) Thaxton of Detroit, MI, Rayford McIntosh Sr. of Tulsa,OK, Mary Marshall Of Coffeyville, KS, Marion(Jimmy)McIntosh of Springfield OH, and Brent McIntosh of Colorado Springs, CO. Special Sister of love Rose (Frank) Burks. In circle of love, Keiko Rozzell and Masako Iba (mother and grandmother of Taka and Toshi), a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10:30a.m. - 1:00p.m. at Restored Life Ministries on Innisfallen Ave. A celebration of Clista's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
