Bette F. Cook

Cook, Bette Frances Keller, 79, of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 2, 2016 after a brief illness. Bette was born on May 2, 1937, the eleventh of twelve children of Roy and Mae Keller. She was a loving and extremely dedicated mom, grandma, and friend. Bette will be missed deeply by daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Jim Keating of Grove City, grandson John (Breann) Keating of Lubbock, Texas, granddaughter Megan Keating of Grove City, and much beloved great-grandsons Grayson and Garren Keating of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by sister, Mabel Titus, sisters-in-law Marie Keller and Sue Poole, brother-in-law Monty Davis, special niece Karen Keller, and extraordinary friends Millard and Deloris McCloud and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Bette was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, John A. Cook, parents Roy and Mae Keller, much loved siblings, Eugene Keller, Ralph Keller, Wilbur(Web) Keller, Dorothy Smith, Herman Keller, Robert Keller, Evelyn Allen, June Vierra, Roy Keller, Guy(Butch) Keller, and special friends William(Rip) Exline and Elizabeth(Boots) Hanrahan. She was a waitress and worked at Springfield Warehouse for many years. Bette enjoyed to travel, shop, and spending time and laughing with family and friends. She so enjoyed her dinners, laughing and telling stories, every Tuesday and Friday evenings with Karen Keller, Becky Harner, Susie Poole, Gail Layne, Ruthie Tyree, Sylvia Gochenouer, and Sue Givens. Her dedication to her family and friends was something we can only try to aspire to be like and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Bette’s family would like to thank the Community/Mercy Hospice team that made this final journey much easier. In addition, thank-you to Dr. Umerani for his care throughout the years. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at High Street Church of the Nazarene with a celebration of her life immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Rosehill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House in Columbus, Ohio, or the donor’s favorite charity.
